INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY WITH PRECISION DENTAL IMPLANT PLACEMENT AND RESTORATION - A COMPARISON OF THE NOBELGUIDE & MED3D SYSTEMS

Presenters:

Drs John Devlin & David Roberts (Specialist Prosthodontists)

Drs Ian Young & Greg Peek (Specialist Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons)

Program outline:

Drs Devlin and Young will present the clinical planning and practice of precision implant placement using the NobelGuide system, and subsequent restoration. They will each present the prosthodontic and surgical aspects of the system

Drs Roberts and Peek will present the clinical planning and practice of precision implant placement using the MED3D system, and subsequent restoration. They will each present the prosthodontic and surgical aspects of the system

In the third session of the conference the presenters will come together to compare and contrast the individual systems in a panel-style discussion. The intention is to highlight the relative merits of the system and allow delegates the opportunity to direct clinical specific queries to any of the presenters

CLINICAL DENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY - PRINCIPLES AND TECHNIQUE

PROSTHODONTIC & SURGERY UPDATE FOR AUXILLARIES

Presenters:

Mr Michael Shapter - Professional clinical photographer

(Michael has an Australian photographic qualification but spent several years in the UK working as Clinical Photographer and Lecturer at the Cardiff School of Dentistry. During that time he was responsible for providing clinical photography services in addition to training of dentists, orthodontic postgraduates and Dental Assistants/ Hygienists. He now lives on the Sunshine Coast)

Program outline:

The clinical photography presentation will cover camera and photography basics, specific technique for facial & intra-oral images, image manipulation/ storage & how to select the ideal clinical camera. To present an unbiased approach, a professional photographer with specific clinical experience has been selected.

To compliment the photography topics, the Prosthodontist & Oral Surgeon presenters will offer an update on their key topics, specific for Dental Auxiliaries. Topics include: 30 clinical prosthodontic topics in 60 minutes, oral surgery instrument identification & purpose, post-surgical care, basic care for jaw fracture patients and helping make the perfect smile

BY AIR:

ROCKHAMPTON airport (nearest point to Yeppoon) is well serviced by VirginBlue, Qantas and Jetstar. All carriers have multiple direct flights departing from Brisbane daily. BY TRAIN:

For the adventure minded, Queensland Rail's Tilt Train offers daily travel to Rockhampton, departing from Brisbane and most rail-serviced communities in between. Travel time is approximately 8 hours ex-Brisbane with comfort available to all passengers (in Business and Economy) through aircraft business-sized reclining chairs. BY ROAD:

Rydges Capricorn Resort is located approximately 15kms north-east from Yeppoon, with Yeppoon a 45km trip east from Rockhampton which is located on the Bruce Highway. Travel, by road, from Brisbane to Rydges Resort would be estimated to take approximately 9 hours with various stops en-route. Complimentary car parking is available for in-house guests of the Resort.
